Description

Our starter medical transcription course will come with the following items:

The “Starter Course comes with the following items: Terminology Textbook and CD, all five course CDs including authentic dictation CDs, all support and assistance that come with our other courses and access to the student area. Digital Foot Pedal is included for one payment enrollments for a very limited time. No Computer.

The starter course will save you money!  You can purchase the additional items you may need by adding them on at the time of enrollment or purchasing them on your own as you need them.

You will need to buy a digital foot pedal (the Digital Foot Pedal is included when you pay in one payment for a limited time), AHDI Book of Style and Workbook, MT Tech / Procedures 7th edition, and a medical dictionary by half the way through the course.

You will need to purchase the following items when you need them if you enroll in this course option. The items below are listed in the order you would need them after finishing the 1st textbook that is included with your enrollment.

  • AHDI Book of Style & BOS Workbook (Estimated Cost: $120.00 - $150.00 + S & H) 
  • Medical Tech & Proc 7th edition (Estimated Cost: $70.00 -$85.00 + S & H) 
  • Medical Dictionary Stedman's or Dorland's (Estimated Cost $50.00 - $100.00 + S & H) 
  • Digital .wav Foot Pedal (Estimated Cost: $65.00 -$150.00 + S & H)  The foot pedal is included in the single payment option for a limited time.
  • You would also need Microsoft Word for your computer if you do not already have it, this can run between $75 - $150 depending on where you get it. MS Office with MS Word can be more expensive. The price quotes above are an average for just MS Word. 

*Estimated costs will depend on where you purchase the item(s). Some stores or websites may be less expensive than others.

*You will need your own computer that runs Microsoft Windows XP, Vista, or 7.
*You will also need to have Microsoft Word on your computer by half the way through the course if you do not already have this program.


*We recommend purchasing headphones by half the way through the course. You can add them on at the time of enrollment or purchase on your own. (You may be able to find them a little cheaper at your local store.)

The Saunders Pharmaceutical Word Book Below is NOT mandatory - However, it is highly recommended and very useful in learning the medical transcription career field.

Shipping Schedule:

The Terminology Textbook and two course CDs will be shipped after the down payment. The remaining three dictation CDs will be shipped after the 4th monthly payment.    You can add a foot pedal at the time of your enrollment below:

If you add on a foot pedal, it may ship separate.  If it does ship separate, you should receive it within two weeks after you receive your course materials.
